Miss universe: Miss Angola,
Question by Lea Salonga: If you could change one of your physical characteristics, which one would it be and why?

Miss Angola: Thank God I’m very well satisfied with the way that God created me and I wouldn’t change a thing. I consider myself a woman endowed with inner beauty, I have my principles, I have acquired many wonderful principles from my family and I plan to follow these through the rest of my life and now I want to give all of you a piece of advice: Respect one another.

Miss Universe 2011 - Leila Lopes

First Runner-up: Miss Ukraine Olesia Stefanko
Question by Amelia Vega: If you could trade lives with anyone in history, who whould it be and why?

Miss Ukraine: I simply live my life and I’m very satisfied with it. But if I did have the chance to trade positions with someone I think I would choose Cleopatra. I think she is a very powerful and strong woman who is very much worthy of respect. And I think a woman could also be a leader like Cleopatra.

Second Runner-up: Miss Brazil, Priscila Machado
Question by Helio Castroneves: What would you do to avoid fighting a war that you did not agree with it?

Miss Brazil: First of all I would explain to people that the premiere quality of human being is respect. And more war is not based on respect. It’s always based on misunderstanding, it’s always based on a lack of education. So I would tell this person that we should respect each other as human beings.

Army Chief tells Anna movement showing power of democracy

Army Chief General V K Singh said that the anti-corruption movement in India shows the “power of democracy, power of people.”

He said, “Interesting in terms of how we are witnessing the power of democracy, the power of the people. Interesting in terms of how we are seeing our leadership cope up with these things’.”

“A lot of things are happening, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Gujarat to the most north-eastern part. There is a certain amount of unrest in the country, for various reasons–some sponsored, some genuine (and) some which started with genuine thing and then got into something else.”

“The theme is only one–how do we take the nation forward from the morass that we are in…. It is not who is leading the movement but it is why it has come to this stage.”

“If the youth are channelised, if they are given the type of value system, I think we can get out of this great ‘daldal’ (morass) that we are in.”

He was speaking to the members of the entertainment industry in suburban Juhu last night and the function was organized by former MP Santosh Bhartiya.
