A new buffer zone has been proposed for the sex ofenders in Greenville, Ohio. It will be a place to live after their release from prison. A 1000 foot zone is already in law in the city and now the officials are planning to increase it to 1500 feet. Idea is to separate sex offenders live farther from schools, daycares and bus stops. Residents who are supporting or opposing the idea of special buffer zone have a meeting to discuss on this issue. The two strongest stratements what I feel was – “sex offenders don’t deserve a second chance” and second “What about the victim, what about the child, that child does not get a second chance”. It is true even if there is probability (mind it….still a probability) that sex offenders will come back in normal life, the victim will not get second chance. In my view government/authority should not provide any comfort to them. Buffer zone will not solve the problem. It is only delaying the problem. Buffer zone will only be the place to live, otherwise they are free to walk around.
